Hahaha. One should always keep their time warp handy. Happy way late Canadian Thanksgiving and Happy Early American Thanksgiving. Let us all feast upon pleasant pipe tunes.

I'm enjoying the suggestions thus far. Are there any books with good arrangements of these tunes? I've seen some piping hymn books floating around out there, but always curious what books people suggest for music outside of the Traditional Scottish Canon

The Ash Grove, Welsh Traditional, a lovely tune. Recently again came across the pipe tune and it is pleasantly stuck in my head.

That is the Title: We Gather Together. The hymn tune is KREMSER. It’s originally a 17th century Dutch hymn, Wilt heden nu treden.
Some other choices: Let All Things Now Living( Ash Grove),Sent Forth By God’s Blessing ( also The Ash Grove),Sing To The Lord of Harvest (WIE LIEBLICH IST DER MAIEN), Now Thank We All Our God(NUN DANKET),

Very, very close to the title in our hymnal, "We Gather together".

Thanksgiving Day: Pipe Tunes, Hymns, or Songs??

    Greetings to All,

It now being but shortly--to the U.S. Thanksgiving Day--I find
myself suddenly wondering--about any pipe tunes--that are
either specifically for Thanksgiving--or that--being imminently
playable on the pipes--have traditionally been played on the
pipes for this day--or--any that have been found adaptable--
    to this quite lovely--and important--Holiday...

    And--and of course--possible sources would include--hymns--
folk tunes and songs--and national songs and tunes.

The only one that jumps to my mind is--with this opening line--
"We Gather Together to Ask The Lord's Blessing--but Blast if
    I can remember--the title!!

    Any referrals--recommendations--or thoughts--out there??

    Regards to All,

    Pip01
