  • Help identifying cane reeds

    To all,
I recently purchased a set of 50's Lawries at an estate sale. They came with some newish cane reeds which I disinfected and put in another set of pipes. I am trying to identify what they are since they sound good. The body appears to be plastic or a composite. Here are the pictures. Can anybody help? Many thanks...Apell IMG_0004 (1).jpg IMG_0001 (1).jpg IMG_0003 (1).jpg IMG_0002 (2).jpg

They look like the old Ross reeds

Just checked out some pictures of Ross drone reeds..these are exactly what they are. Since they came out in 85, that gives me an idea of when these pipes were last played...they're in great condition..quite a few years.. thanks for the lead.

Talk about a flashback! It was a wonder that those 2x4 tongues could make any sound.
