I was gutted to see in Piping Press that Alan Walters, from BC, Canada, has died. He was a frequent and fun visitor to Oregon and a house guest. He was P/M of the old Triumph Street, a piping judge and instructor, and the source of many a good story with his robust and easy laugh. I remember him playing with a cigarette between his fingers, testament to his dexterity. He will be really missed by many of us in the NW N. America and elsewhere.
